About Medical and Human Training for Postgraduate Students

Within the Faculty of Medical and Human Sciences our goal is to create an environment that supports you through every stage of your research programme allowing you to excel and reach your full potential. The philosophy is on broadening the PhD training experience at key stages of the PhD to make the challenges of PhD study less daunting.

Developed on the basis of a 'personal development plan' and 'skills audit' early in the first year, the Graduate Training Programme is training-on-demand.

The nature of the training is to be individual, and fit the requirements of each student whether they are involved in basic or clinical research. Delivered by a dedicated training team the courses on offer are delivered at the point at which they are most relevant. The training is delivered in a flexible manner, allowing part-time students to attend at a time that suits them. This blended learning style combines face to face training with continued online support.

As a training team we aim to be an extension of your supervisory team and we are available to provide advice and guidance at any time.

What do other Postgraduates think?

"The introduction course is a must attend for every Postgraduate student"

"Excellent course - glad I came on it early on in the term"

"Another great training session – Thank you once again"
